A Complete Roofing System, Not Just New Shingles

Elevra’s primary service is full roof replacement using a complete system-based approach. We do not simply swap shingles — we build a complete roofing system designed to perform for years in Vancouver Island’s coastal climate.

The biggest misconception homeowners have is that a roof replacement is simply about removing old shingles and installing new ones. In reality, shingles are only the outer layer of protection. A proper roof depends on the entire system underneath and around them — including decking condition, ice and water protection, synthetic underlayment, drip edge, starter strips, flashing, ventilation, and correct installation details.

Many roofing problems are not caused by the shingles themselves, but by poor installation, inadequate ventilation, missing water protection, reused flashings, or hidden deck deterioration. Elevra’s system-based approach is designed to prevent these failure points from day one.

What's Included in Every Replacement

Roof Deck Inspection & Repair

Full tear-off exposes the deck. Any rotted, soft, or damaged sheathing is replaced before the new system is installed.

Ice & Water Shield

Applied at eaves, valleys, and penetrations to provide a waterproof membrane layer against wind-driven rain and ice damming.

Synthetic Underlayment

Premium synthetic underlayment installed across the full deck — stronger, lighter, and more moisture-resistant than traditional felt.

Drip Edge

Metal drip edge installed at eaves and rakes to direct water away from the fascia and into the gutters.

Starter Strip

Factory-applied adhesive starter strip at eaves and rakes to seal the first course of shingles against wind uplift.

Premium Shingles

Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles — a premium laminate shingle with a SureNail Technology fastening strip and strong wind resistance.

Flashing Details

All penetrations, valleys, step flashings, and transitions are properly flashed and sealed to prevent water intrusion at the most vulnerable points.

Ventilation Assessment

Proper attic ventilation is evaluated and upgraded where needed to prevent moisture buildup, premature shingle aging, and structural damage.

Ridge Cap

Hip and ridge cap shingles installed at all peaks and hips for a finished appearance and proper weather sealing.

Cleanup & Nail Sweep

Magnetic nail sweep of the full property, full debris removal, and a final walkthrough before warranty documentation is issued.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofs

In addition to asphalt shingle systems, Elevra installs torch-on and cold-adhered membrane systems for flat and low-slope roofs. These systems require different materials, installation techniques, and drainage planning — all of which Elevra handles with the same system-based approach.

Common Questions

No. Elevra does not offer roof overlays. Installing over old shingles hides rot, traps moisture, adds unnecessary weight, and prevents proper deck inspection. A proper roof system starts with a full tear-off.

Any rotten or compromised sheathing is replaced before the new system is installed. We document these areas and explain the repair clearly so you understand exactly why it is necessary.

Most standard residential replacements are completed in one to three days depending on roof size, complexity, weather, and decking condition.

Yes. In addition to asphalt shingle systems, Elevra installs torch-on and cold-adhered membrane systems for flat and low-slope roofs.
